Yuck
they had me write on my knee so that they wouldn't operate the wrong one. i thought it was a good idea and it reminded me of a great story about my grandma.a few years ago my grandma had to have a mastectomy of one of her breasts due to cancer. this is the grandma that i don't recall ever being sick, let alone spending any time in the hospital. she's even outlived two husbands.
anyway, i went to visit her 2 days after her surgery. as i'm walking down the hall, trying to be somber and serious i hear my grandma and others i didn't recognize, laughing hysterically. when i got to her room i asked what was so funny.
apparently my grandma, without telling anyone ahead of time, took a black sharpie and wrote on her good boob "Not Me." this apparently sent the surgeon into a laughing fit along with all the assistants, my grandma was already knocked out and didn't even get the joy of seeing th reaction.
at about 70 years old, my grandma betty had one of the quickest recoveries the hospital had seen. they sent her home early because they couldn't keep her in bed.
laughter=good medicine
