A good calzone.
If anyone knows where I can get a good calzone in Seattle, please let me know. Nothing fancy, just deep fried dough filled with cheese, pepperoni, olives, peppers, salami, and topped with a thick heavy red marinara sauce.
Now days I only get about one a year, when I go home to Fresno and eat at Di Cicco's. Sure it's not fancy authentic Italian food, but it is delicious.

I'm already looking forward to my trip to Fresno in April when I'll get to eat all my favorite foods again. The reason for going? One of my closest friends is getting married!
Congrat's TC! I'm so happy for you.

The only calzone I've had in the city was Piecora's and it wasn't too bad (although I'm no connoisseur). Not to mention it's right around the corner from you.

Piecora's is okay, probably the best I've had so far in Seattle. Just not outstanding.
I think someone may have told me about Pete's a long time ago, sounds familiar.

And if you know where I can get a decent calzone in LA, I'm ALL EARS. :stomach grumble:

I would suggest Pete's as well. Best one I have had so far in Seattle. There is also a Pete's on Roosevelt and 50th in the U dist.
Whole foods also has Calzones that I used to get occasionally when I worked near by. They were decent.

Hmm...I'll have to try Pete's.
AJ, I'll ask some of my friends that live in LA for suggestions and let you know.

Well, calzones ARE pretty awesome.

Piecora's is not only the best I've had in town, but the damn thing is (to quote the Donald) 'uge & nearly unfinishable. I love the little dipping container of marinara sauce (the picture you have on your site makes the poor thing look like something from Mama's Mexican Kitchen). also, compared to the Pagliacci version, Piecora's calzone does not arrive soggy or leathery. the vegetarian version is rilly good.

Pete's is okay, but it's absolute shit when compared to Di Cicco's. Never in my life have I had a calzone that freaking good! Probably 1 of the top 5 flavors I have ever had in my mouth.
