Emmet Otter
This weekend I had my annual day of forcing my friends and family to watch Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas. I thought it was wonderful. I love singing along to all the horrible songs about holes in washtubs, fat aunt's bikinis, bothers, and pies.
I can't believe I have never heard a remake of the River Bottom Nightmare Band song. If anyone you know is in a band, they should definitely cover this song. The best line ever is, "We don't like to learn but we hate what we can't understand." It's awesome.
Too bad you couldn't have been there Trish, I thought of you when Emmet went down the slide and kicked mama ;)

Oh no, miss OCG, I own it ;) It looks like it was re-released in 1996 thought, so you can probably rent it somewhere...my copy is VHS!!

You may not believe this but I was just thinking yesterday that we should get together for some Christmas movies and this was one in particular. Glad you had fun. Your childhood wasn't so bad, was it?

Well Ken, you're in luck. I have had several (ok, just one) other complaints from people about missing Emmet, so...there is going to be a reshowing when we get back from Boston!!

Oh Mel, last night I had a christmas party, for a few reasons, but most major reason of all---to force everyone to watch Emmett Otter with me!! A few of them had seen it before, but all were kind of impressed/scared of my loud singing-along to Brothers and Barbeque. Wish you could have been at the party, no one else understands!
P.s., I still think the flipping squirrels should have won the talent show. Come on, they're so cute!
